Susan Jagosz - The Legendary Narizona
A gambling goat, a sharp-witted cactus reporter, and a chatty pot of pozole take center stage in Jagosz’s new play. Through masks, puppetry, and magical realism, this imaginative performance weaves a captivating tale of identity, assimilation, and the struggle to reclaim what feels lost.

About The Event
The Legendary Narizona unfolds in a world of mystery and myth. Each morning, Blanca—an enigmatic young woman with no memory of who she is—is painted white by a flock of spectral birds. But when Abuelita Pajarita, the spirit of her grandmother in hummingbird form, whispers curiosity into her heart, Blanca flees, setting off on a journey to uncover the truth.
Guided by fate and a newfound ally, Panza, Blanca stumbles upon the legendary Narizón—a colossal figure buried beneath the earth, growing ever larger through the strange power of a magical nose, eerily like her own. As the past inches closer, the elusive trickster El Chorizo lurks in shifting disguises, throwing obstacles in her path. Only when Blanca finally traps him does she unlock the final secret—one that will lead her back to Abuelita Pajarita and the revelation of her true self.
Handcrafted masks and puppets breathe life into this world of magical realism, weaving English and Spanish into a rich, immersive experience for all audiences.
This production is made possible by the support of the Puffin Foundation.
