About The Event

Rosemarie is an immersive four-medium installation, blending sculpture, painting, film, and costume design to explore profound themes of identity, memory, and transformation. This unique collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Zakee Kuduro and creative giant Shamon Cassette, who also serves as the exhibition's custom designer, offers a deeply layered experience that invites viewers to engage with its narrative from multiple dimensions.

Costume Design

Designed by Shamon Cassette, the costumes in Rosemarie play a pivotal role in shaping the visual and emotional language of the installation. Each piece is carefully crafted to reflect the themes of identity and transformation, using materials and silhouettes that evoke both historical and futuristic elements. Cassette’s costumes serve as wearable art, adding a tactile, performative dimension to the exhibition, and further blurring the lines between character, narrative, and the physical body.

Sculpture

Created for Shamon Cassette and Zakee Kuduro, the sculpture serves as a powerful, physical manifestation of the exhibition’s core themes. A fusion of organic and industrial materials, the piece symbolizes the contrasts between inner and outer worlds, reflecting the delicate balance between human vulnerability and resilience.

Short Film

Directed by Zakee Kuduro, with Shamon Cassette starring and curating, the short film introduces a cinematic layer to the installation. It weaves together the narrative threads of Rosemarie, serving as a bridge between the sculpture and the paintings. The film enhances the multisensory journey, offering a reflective exploration of self, identity, and transformation.

Paintings

Zakee Kuduro’s immersive paintings further deepen the narrative of Rosemarie. Through bold and intricate textures, the paintings capture moments of raw emotion and abstraction. They invite viewers into the emotional landscape of the character, offering both a personal and universal reflection on the human condition.
