About The Event
Set in 1990s San Francisco, Safe Sane Consensual is a drama exploring a tragic BDSM scene gone wrong. Len (short for Helen), a working-class butch, accidentally causes the death of her privileged femme lover, Amanda. The fallout pushes Len’s sanity and fractures her kink community. The play moves fluidly through time, weaving Len’s difficult childhood with her and Amanda’s love story. This work honors the often-overlooked leather women who shaped queer culture.
