Useless Man – curated by Dakota Noot
July 26 - September 22
In “Useless Man,” artists reposition the “male” body outside of strength and authority. They redefine its look and purpose. Men can be submissive and ultimately transformed. These artists differ in their takes on masculinity, ranging from the absurd and humorous to violent. Artists of varying identities can take power over the male body instead of allowing it to overpower themselves. The artists can define men or render them useless. Men are material to be used b artists of all gender identities.
Artists include: Rakeem Cunningham, Gabriel Garcia, Maiza Hixson, Shaun Johnson, Emily Blythe Jones, Jason Ramos, Charles Snowden, Christopher Velasco
