EZTV 40 YEARS AND COUNTING: An Anniversary Celebration
September 14, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm PDT

It has been 40 years since EZTV’s founder, John Dorr, made his first feature length video using a home Betamax deck and a “borrowed” black and white security camera. It has been a wild ride from Timothy Leary to Jean Luc Godard, David Hockney to Mark Gash, performance artists to physicists, innovative digital artists to hackers. And the community grows…
The evening will include videos and performances highlighting EZTV’s diverse projects and collaborations. The incomparable Kate Crash will emcee the celebration with an outlandish elan. Performances and talks include Barbara T. Smith, performance artist; S. Pearl Sharp, poet and filmmaker; Nina Rota, writer and filmmaker; Joan Collins, chair emeritus LA SIGGRAPH; Shane Parton, performance and video artist; and special guests.
Researchers working with the Kandinsky Library in the Centre Pompidou Paris will send video greetings and highlights of, Michael J. Masucci and Kate Johnson’s, recent presentations there on EZTV’s history.
