CHLOE LOBRE (artist) & MARGAUX GAYET (photographer) – Renew
September 8, 2017 - October 22, 2017
The “Renew” project is the result of a long-term performance (started in 2015) around self-identity, and the influence of pop culture on its construction.
The project began with Chloé Lobre taking on, in real life, the appearance of eight movie characters (4 men and 4 women). This inner reflection led to gender interrogation, construction of self-identity, and a journey through the process of recovering.
The exhibition includes screen captures from movies, original photography, selected sentences and crafted material.
On View: September 8 – October 22
Opening Event: September 9, 6-8pm
Chloé Lobre lives in Paris. She graduated from Art School where she created her first visual book around gender dysphoria. She works as a designer, creates podcasts and also models. After a trauma, she decided to focus again on art, so she could explore topics like self-identity and mental suffering. This is the topic of this first exhibition.
Margaux Gayet is a fashion photographer in Paris. She studied photography and art history at La Sorbonne, then she worked under the mentorship of Robert Delpire. Today, she’s an established fashion photographer and works for many brands & magazines, including Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and Vogue.
