Hibis-Kiss, is a potent performance that shares with viewers a River of love exuding joy, shedding, transformation, and poetry.
Apsara Ras Healing Arts formed in December 2016 and preparation for Hibis-Kiss, began in February 2017. This collective was formed by Apsara Ajooba, a queer femme indian dancer and community teacher of sensual and wellness wisdom. Her lessons at Ancestral Apothecary Herbal School three years ago kindled a deeper relationship to flower medicine within her. The flowers inspired her to embrace her erotic wisdom, recover her passion for dance stage performance from childhood, and to continue her dreams about brewing a sacred dance production with community. Eventually, Apsara met 11 other divine dancers and artists interested in co-creating vivacious and impactful dance performances, and the collective started forming and blossoming into their first lush production, Hibis-Kiss; A River of Love.
